Coronavirus: Don Giorgio, pastor of Riccione, has died

Don Giorgio, parish priest of Santi Angeli Custodi in Riccione, died this afternoon (Saturday, October 31) at the age of 78. The priest had been hospitalized for several weeks in the Sick hospital, after contracting the new coronavirus infection. Unfortunately, his condition got worse and worse, until his death. Don Giorgio was born in San Savino on May 15, 1942 and arrived in Riccione in 1967, the year in which he was ordained a priest. His spiritual father had been Don Oreste Benzi. The news plunged the Riccione community into despair, which had joined in the prayer in recent hours, after little reassuring news about his state of health.
