There are 1240 new cases of coronavirus in Sicily reported in the last 24 hours, 10,850 swabs. So fewer infections than yesterday and even more swabs, with a decreasing positivity rate, to 11.41%. Thirty-four victims in 24 hours, 1723 in all. Hospitalizations continue to decline.
The epidemic curve is also decreasing in the rest of Italy. There are 21,052 new cases today, compared to 24,099 yesterday, compared to 194,984 swabs, 18,000 fewer than yesterday. However, the percentage of positive swabs falls to 10.7% from 11.32% 24 hours ago, and the weekly reduction is also visible (last Saturday, for example, new cases exceeded 5,000 more).
The death toll is still high, 662 today, but lower than 814 yesterday. The total of victims is 59,114. The decline in hospitalizations is reinforced: intensive care units are 50 fewer (yesterday -30), 3,517 in total (with 192 new entries today). While ordinary hospitalizations fell by 1,042 units (yesterday -572), for a total of 30,158. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health.
