In Emilia-Romagna on Christmas day it was reported 1,756 positive swabs, out of a total of 5,775 accomplished. The percentage of new positives over the number of swabs made since yesterday is 30.4%. It is easy to imagine that on a given date these numbers are tainted by many factors and therefore cannot be indicative of the current trend, which would otherwise be really worrisome.
The control and prevention activity continues: of the newly infected, 932 are asymptomatic identified as part of the regional contact tracing and detection activities. Overall, 358 of the new positives were already isolated at the time of swab execution, 519 were identified within known foci. The average age of new positives today is 45.3 years.
Of the 932 asymptomatic, 454 were identified through contact tracing, 65 through tests for risk categories introduced by the Region, 27 through serological tests, and 4 through pre-admission tests. The epidemiological investigation is still ongoing for 382 cases.

In the last 24 hours, 5,775 swabs were performed, for a total of 2,502,232, in addition to 119 serological tests and 735 rapid swabs performed since yesterday.
As for the total of people cured, they are 3,423 more than yesterday and reach 100,333.
Active cases, that is, actual patients, to date are 57,287 (1,691 less than yesterday). Of these, people in isolation at home, that is, those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are asymptomatic, total 54,443 (-1,618), 95% of all active cases.
There are 214 patients admitted to intensive care (+8 compared to yesterday), 2,630 those from the rest of Covid departments (-81).
In the area, patients admitted to intensive care are distributed as follows: 16 in Piacenza (+2), 11 in Parma (unchanged compared to yesterday), 17 in Reggio Emilia (+1 compared to yesterday ), 45 in Modena (no change), 54 in Bologna (+2), 6 in Imola (+1), 23 in Ferrara (+2 compared to yesterday), 19 in Ravenna (no change), 3 in Forlì (no changes), 2 in Cesena (+1) and 18 in Rimini (-1).
