Piedmont goes from the red zone to the orange and the streets of Turin are full of people, with real gatherings. It was enough for the shops to lift the blinds to see the streets of the city center full of people and long lines on the sidewalks, without respecting the distance. In via Lagrange there are many customers even in front of the bars to have takeaway drinks, as has not been the case in recent weeks. “For us it is pure oxygen”, say the managers of a clothing store on a side street of the central Via Roma. Many shops have reopened with discounts and promotions thus extending ‘Black Friday’ and attracting customers. I also take advantage of the discounts for Christmas shopping, you never know they will close everything ”, explains a woman in the queue to enter ‘Kasanova’. “This morning there were already people outside even before the inauguration and in the first half hour we sealed many receipts and filled envelopes,” they confirm from ‘Zara’ in via Roma.
Milan and Lombardy are now in the orange zone And there are many Milanese who on the first day of the reopening of the stores crowded the shopping streets to take advantage of the latest Black Friday offers and start giving some Christmas gifts. We have not seen Corso Vittorio Emanuele in weeks, the pedestrian artery that borders the Duomo and where the Rinascente is also located, full of people walking with bags and purses.
Calabria also leaves the red zone of maximum anti-Covid restrictions. On the other hand, Liguria and Sicilia go from orange to yellow, again by order of the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, given the weekly monitoring data analyzed by the control room.
WHAT THE THREE BANDS PROVIDE
In short, Italy changes color and with it the degree of limitations of citizens and economic activities in the different territories. The Aosta Valley, the autonomous province of Bolzano, Tuscany, Abruzzo and Campania remain in red; orange Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Marche, Umbria, Basilicata and Puglia; yellow Veneto, autonomous province of Trento, Lazio, Molise and Sardinia.
The decisions are the effect of a virus transmissibility index (Rt) just above the safety threshold of 1, but with mean values between 1 and 1.25 in most Autonomous Regions and Provinces (in week 4- November 17, calculated in symptomatic cases).
