Calabria was included in the red zone due to the precariousness of the health system
Calabria, like Lombardy and Piedmont, ends in the so-called red zone. Three in all the scenarios foreseen in this new closure in force until next December 2, red, orange and green, and the decision is established by the Ministry of Health with an ordinance based on the 21 reference parameters. Some of them have been pointed out by the premier himself: these are the Rt index, outbreaks and the situation of occupation of hospital beds. And Calabria will probably be included in the red zone, unlike the other two regions, not because of the Rt index but because of the precariousness of the health system.
With this new confinement, shops (with the exception of hairdressers and beauticians), markets, all activities in bars, ice cream parlors, pastry shops and restaurants (except home delivery, it is allowed to take out until 10 pm). Newsstands, tobacconists, pharmacies, parapharmacies are also open. In the same areas, government sources point out, “industries, crafts, construction and services” remain open, as well as primary and secondary schools.
Physical activity is allowed “in the vicinity of the house” and with the obligation to wear a mask and sports activity “exclusively outdoors and individually”. Sports activities also suspended in outdoor sports centers.
In the red areas, distance learning will also be available to second and third grade students (as well as high school). In short, you can leave home only for “proven work needs or situations of need or health reasons”, as well as for all those movements “strictly necessary” to accompany children to school.
The Regions list is not official yet, Sicily is waiting to know if it will end in the green or orange zone.
