TUSCANY – In Tuscany there are 107,644 cases of positivity for the coronavirus, 769 more than yesterday. New cases are 0.7% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 4.9% and reached 74,261 (69% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,633,330, 13,229 more than yesterday, of which 5.8% positive. On the other hand, 4,063 subjects evaluated today (excluding control swabs), of which 18.9% were positive. To these are added the 2,776 rapid antigenic swabs that are currently being made. The current positives are 30,544 today, -8.2% compared to yesterday. There are 1,634 hospitalized (47 less than yesterday), of which 261 in intensive care (2 less). Unfortunately, today there are 41 new deaths: 21 men and 20 women with an average age of 82.4 years.
These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – regarding the advance of the epidemic in the region.
The average age of 769 cases at present is approximately 49 years (11% are under 20, 23% between 20 and 39, 33% between 40 and 59, 22% between 60 and 79 years, The 11 % are 80 years or older). It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 30,100 cases in total to date in Florence (194 more than yesterday), 9,525 in Prato (106 more), 9,483 in Pistoia (78 more), 6,781 in Massa-Carrara (33 more: 11 in Carrara, 12 in Massa, 2 in Aulla, 1 in Filattiera, 4 in Fivizzano, 1 in Fosdinovo, 2 in Licciana Nardi), 10,860 in Lucca (84 more), 14,971 in Pisa (109 more), 7,531 in Livorno (58 more), 9,715 in Arezzo (46 more), 4,368 in Siena (33 more), 3,755 in Grosseto (28 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. Thus, there are 395 cases found today at the ASL Center, 267 in the northwest, 107 in the southeast.
Tuscany ranks ninth in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 2,886 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 2,798 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 3,696 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,573, Massa Carrara with 3,480, the lowest Siena with 1,635.
In total, 28,910 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (2,688 less than yesterday, less 8.5%). There are 32,839 (1,031 less than yesterday, less 3%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (ASL Center 10,911, Northwest 15,689, Southeast 6,239).
The people admitted to beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 1,634 (47 less than yesterday, less 2.8%), 261 in intensive care (2 less than yesterday, less 0.8%). The total number of people cured is 74,261 (3,463 more than yesterday, plus 4.9%): 468 clinically cured (14 more than yesterday, plus 3.1%), that is, they remained asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 73,793 (3,449 more than yesterday, plus 4.9%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with a negative swab.
Unfortunately, today there are 41 new deaths: 21 men and 20 women with an average age of 82.4 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 15 in Florence, 5 in Prato, 7 in Pistoia, 1 in Massa-Carrara (83-year-old woman), 2 in Lucca, 5 in Pisa, 3 in Livorno, 2 in Arezzo, 1 in Siena.
2,839 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 1,026 in Florence, 196 in Prato, 220 in Pistoia, 320 in Massa Carrara, 266 in Lucca, 303 in Pisa, 199 in Livorno, 136 in Arezzo, 85 in Siena , 63 in Grosseto, 25 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
The Tuscan crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 76.1 x 100,000 residents versus 97.5 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (164.2 x 100 000), Florence (101.4 x 100 000) and Prato (76.1 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (28.4 x 100 000).
THE SITUATION IN USL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for “Covid-19”, in the hospitals of the Northwest Tuscany company USL there are a total of 474 (yesterday there were 479), of which 58 (yesterday there were 63) in intensive care. 91 patients were admitted to the Livorno hospital, 13 of whom were in intensive care. In the Lucca hospital 86 patients, of which 15 in intensive care. In the Apuane hospital, 102 were hospitalized (stable), of which 17 were in intensive care (stable). In the hospital of Versilia 99 hospitalized, of which 7 in intensive care. In Pontedera hospital 45 patients, 3 of them in intensive care. In Cecina hospital 24 patients, 3 of them in intensive care.
