Coronavirus and school, Fedriga signs the ordinance: here are the guidelines

The Guidelines for the management of contacts of confirmed cases of Covid-19 within schools and services for children signed today by the governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, and shared with the deputy governor with the delegate of Health, Riccardo Riccardi and with the Minister of Education, Alessia Rosolen, as well as the doctors of the departments and clinics of infectious diseases of the two universities of Trieste and Udine, pediatricians and general practitioners of free choice.

Symptoms in the classroom

The intention of the guidelines is to clarify and simplify monitoring and control procedures to limit the occurrence of outbreaks and ensure continuity of school service. First, the document establishes that if pupils, students, school operators or teachers show symptoms of Covid during school hours, if the protocol provides for it, they will be subjected to a rapid antigen test at school.

Tracking

Regarding tracing, in the presence of a confirmed case of Covid-19 (with swab), the school’s Covid-19 contact person communicates to the Department the school contacts of the person who tested positive, including contacts made in pre or post school activities, which will be evaluated depending on the risk and compliance with anti-Covid prevention measures. Without prejudice to the need to identify positive cases in the school context as soon as possible, the contacts and partners of a suspected case waiting to be carried out or to know the result of the swab are not quarantined, but must in any case continue the instructions issued by the Department of Prevention. In detail, the measures to be observed after a single confirmed case in the class to which they belong refer to the organization of school activities, hygiene and behavior provisions in school and those to be maintained in community life.

What can’t and can’t be done at school

At school, the class involved will not have to perform singing activities or use wind instruments; Recreation will take place at different times or spaces from the rest of the students (eg different times or permanence within the class), there should be no intersection activities between the different classes (eg gym, laboratory activities). With regard to preventive behaviors, the obligation to wear the mask in the context of school activities, including in static conditions (for example, sitting at the desk), should be respected, until the Department indicates, strict compliance with the minimum safety distance, ” Self-monitoring of the state of health during the period defined by the Prevention Department. In the case of the appearance of symptoms compatible with Covid, the treating doctor should be contacted immediately and the student should remain at home.

Interpersonal contacts

In community life, the operator or student not under quarantine, under his own responsibility or that of the parents, must in any case limit interpersonal contacts to a minimum (for example, avoid friends and group outings), contacts in particular with frail and / or elderly people (for example, grandparents), extracurricular activities (for example, sports activities, in-person extracurricular courses, etc.), singing activities or wind instruments should not be performed, the recommendations for the use of the mask in all contexts of interpersonal interaction (eg, use of school transport, outside of school, etc.) and compliance with the minimum safe distance and frequent hand hygiene.
