MONSELICE. Shelling by Carabinieri, Nas soldiers, canine units and local police in the nightlife of Monselice.
Three closed premises and numerous people identified for possession of narcotics. One busy night last night, when a score of carabinieri cars arrived in the walled city shortly after midnight together with the deputy prefect of Padua and the mayor Giorgia Bedin in a major security and legality operation.
It was past midnight And in the halls of the historic center the same scene was taking place that has been repeating for weeks: people piled up without masks, young people with glass bottles in their hands in the streets, drunken boys urinating in public gardens and small fights.
When suddenly, among the many cars parked on the main streets without parking, the Carabinieri patrols from Abano and Monselice arrived, accompanied by the canine unit, the Nas and the local police. Moments of panic among the young people, who, however, faced with the large number of soldiers, could not disappear, as had already happened, but were subjected to controls.
The bombing involved the eight downtown clubs that liven up the city’s nights. First of all they were checked Cairo and Galleria Einaudi. They received the provision of temporary closure of five days for breach of health regulations.
The police then moved to Osteria Mazzini, File 62 and Osticella: all in order. The managers have respected the rules of safety, social distancing and sale of alcohol. The raid continued on piazza s. Marco, where there are two other clubs that attract a lot of young people.
By Maleva there was nothing to do, the security regulations were not enough and it was closed for five days. Sikaru, for its part, the brewery adjacent to the sanctioned room, had adopted all the necessary security regulations, with three “gorillas” that controlled access and spacing and a chain that delimited the place where customers could sit so as not to create meetings . .
Of the eight controlled premises, three were closed, while bars that maintained compliance, even at the cost of lower income, were not subject to closures and penalties. Indeed, Mayor Giorgia Bedin stresses that this is not a rage towards nightlife, but a way of making it clear that the rules must be respected.
“This administration wants a living Monselice, it wants a town where to have fun but in safety and without health risks” Bedin explains “in recent months we have tried to help as far as possible the activities that had suffered the inconveniences of the confinement, granting broader audiences and trying to mediate critical situations with common sense.
However, too often in some specific cases, compliance with regulations has been lacking, especially on the issue of alcohol consumption among young people and in meetings that are a danger for the spread of the virus ”.
No “retaliation” against the locals and youth, just a way to restore common sense in a very difficult time of health. However, some managers did not like the blitz, who have lashed out with harsh words against the administration and the police, accusing them of envy and of looking out only for their own interests. Other owners of the premises, on the other hand, say they are calm and willing to continue in their work and in the “night life” of Monselice following the rules of health and common sense.
Here are all the penalties:
From the controls carried out in the 3 main public establishments around which the Monselic “Movida” takes place, administrative infractions to the provisions relating to the containment of contagion arose.
For the “Kairus Caffè”, the “Maleva” and the place called “Galleria Einaudi”, was closed for 5 days, in accordance with art. 4 of DL n. 19/2020, and an administrative fine of € 400.
The irregularities found refer to the basic rules to contain the contagion, that is, the non-use of the mask within the environments, by the employees, rather than the presence of concentrations of people without a mask, in or near their own local. .
From the control carried out within the local “Galleria Einaudi”, The NAS found irregularities, raising administrative fines for a total of € 5,500, also seizing 30 kg of food worth € 200.
