MASSA-CARRARA – There are 2,479 new cases of coronavirus positivity recorded in Tuscany today, compared to 2,787 yesterday. The deceased decreased only one unit, to 29. The new cured also decreased: today there are 586 against 614 yesterday. These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock based on requests from the National Civil Protection – regarding the advance of the epidemic in the region.
In Tuscany, therefore, cases of positivity for the coronavirus rose to 62,946. New cases are 4.1% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured reached 17,938 (28.5% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,214,035, 15,542 more than yesterday. The subjects evaluated (excluding control swabs) were 8,264, of which 30% were positive.
To these are added the 1,784 rapid antigenic swabs that are being made today. The current positives are 43,447 today, + 4.5% compared to yesterday. There are 1,700 hospitalized (118 more than yesterday), of which 226 in intensive care (12 more). The 29 deaths involved 18 men and 11 women with an average age of 83.7 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 13 in Florence, 5 in Prato, 1 in Pistoia, 2 in Massa-Carrara (two men, 81 and 87 years old), 4 in Pisa, 3 in Livorno, 1 resident outside of Tuscany. It is reiterated that in any case it will be the responsibility of the Higher Institute of Health to definitively attribute the deaths to the coronavirus: in fact, they could be people who already had concomitant pathologies.
The average age of 2479 cases today is approximately 46 years (13% are under 20, 24% between 20 and 39, 36% between 40 and 59, 19% between 60 and 79, 8% are 80 years or older ).
The cases of positivity registered in Florence are 554 more than yesterday, in Prato 336 more, in Pistoia 267 more, in Massa-Carrara 99 more (Carrara 27, Massa 31, Montignoso 4, Aulla 16, Bagnone 3, Filattiera 2, Fivizzano 4, Licciana Nardi 3, Mulazzo 1, Podenzana 2, Pontremoli 3, Villafranca en Lunigiana 3), in Lucca 262 more, in Pisa 347 more, in Livorno 154 more, in Arezzo 252 more, in Siena 139 more, in Grosseto 69 more.
Tuscany ranks seventh in Italy in terms of the number of cases (residents and non-residents), with approximately 1,688 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 1,495). The provinces with the highest notification rate are Prato with 2,121 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 2,008, Florence with 1,839, and the lowest Grosseto with 864.
In total, 41,747 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (1,746 more than yesterday, 4.4% more). On the other hand, there are 35,242 (1,857 less than yesterday, less 5%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people.
People hospitalized in beds dedicated to covid today are a total of 1,700 (118 more than yesterday, plus 7.5%), 226 in intensive care (12 more than yesterday, plus 5.6%)
There are 17,938 people cured in total (586 more than yesterday, plus 3.4%): 1,344 clinically cured people (50 more than yesterday, plus 3.9%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting associated clinical manifestations and 16,594 (536 more than yesterday, plus 3.3%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 41.9 x 100,000 residents versus 68.0 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa-Carrara (107.2 x 100 000), Florence (57.3 x 100 000) and Lucca (44.1 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (12.2 x100,000).
THE SITUATION IN ASL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for covid-19, in the hospitals of the Northwest Tuscany company there are a total of 408 (yesterday there were 396), of which 55 (yesterday 51) in intensive care. In Livorno hospital 102 patients, 12 of them in intensive care. In Lucca hospital, 90 patients, 19 of them in intensive care. In the Apuane hospital 90 hospitalized (as yesterday), of which 12 in intensive care (-2 compared to yesterday). In the Versilia hospital, 70 were hospitalized, of which 8 were in intensive care. In the Pontedera hospital, 46 were hospitalized, of which 4 were in intensive care. In Cecina hospital 10 hospitalized. Finally, from the daily monitoring throughout the USL of Northwest Tuscany, to date (November 8) there are 13,701 (-372 compared to yesterday) isolated people, under active surveillance, for having had contact with people infected.
