MASSA-CARRARA – In Tuscany there are 119,236 cases of Coronavirus positivity, 271 more than yesterday, 0.2% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew by 0.5% and reached 105,589 (88.6% of all cases). The current positives are 10,015 today, -2.6% compared to yesterday. There are 1,036 hospitalized (18 less than yesterday), of which 157 in intensive care (7 less). Today there are 15 deaths: 8 men and 7 women with an average age of 83.2 years.
The swabs made reached 1,861,004 -7,802 more than yesterday-, of which 3.5% were positive. On the other hand, 2,606 subjects evaluated today (excluding control swabs), of which 10.4% were positive. To these are added the 5,208 rapid antigenic swabs that are currently being made.
These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region. The average age of 271 cases today is approximately 46 years (14% are under 20, 27% between 20 and 39, 31% between 40 and 59, 20% between 60 and 79, 8% are 80 years or older).
It should be remembered that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 33,234 cases in total to date in Florence (61 more than yesterday), 10,335 in Prato (19 more), 10,403 in Pistoia (18 more), 7,618 in Massa-Carrara (7 more: Carrara 3, Massa 2, Montignoso 2), 12,408 in Lucca (57 more), 16,602 in Pisa (26 more), 8,539 in Livorno (20 more), 10,506 in Arezzo (32 more), 4,882 in Siena (24 more), 4,154 in Grosseto (7 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
There are 99 cases found today in the ASL Center, 109 in the Northwest, 63 in the Southeast. Tuscany ranks 12th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 3,197 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average of around 3,407 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces with the highest notification rate are Prato with 4,010 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,962, Massa Carrara with 3,909, Siena with 1,827 the lowest.
In total, 8,979 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (251 less than yesterday, less 2.7%). There are 19,761 (16 less than yesterday, less 0.1%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance for having had contact with infected people (ASL Center 5,335, Northwest 10,726, Southeast 3,700). The people admitted to the beds dedicated to covid today are a total of 1,036 (18 less than yesterday, less 1.7%), 157 in intensive care (7 less than yesterday, less 4.3%).
In total there are 105,589 people cured (525 more than yesterday, plus 0.5%): 443 clinically cured people (3 more than yesterday, plus 0.7%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 105,146 ( 522 more than yesterday, plus 0.5%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with negative swab.
Unfortunately, today there are 15 new deaths: 8 men and 7 women with an average age of 83.2 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 4 in Florence, 1 in Pistoia, 1 in Massa-Carrara (73-year-old male), 5 in Lucca, 2 in Pisa, 1 in Livorno, 1 in Grosseto.
3,632 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 1,228 in Florence, 246 in Prato, 273 in Pistoia, 385 in Massa Carrara, 335 in Lucca, 417 in Pisa, 267 in Livorno, 216 in Arezzo, 122 in Siena , 89 in Grosseto, 54 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 97.4 x 100,000 residents versus 119.9 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (197.6 x 100 000), Florence (121.4 x 100 000) and Pisa (99.5 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (40.2 x 100,000).
THE SITUATION IN ASL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for “Covid-19”, in the USL Tuscany Northwest hospitals there are a total of 310 (yesterday there were 312), of which 35 (yesterday 36) in intensive care. In Livorno hospital 54 patients, 8 of them in intensive care. In Lucca hospital 56 patients, of which 5 in intensive care. 59 hospitalized in the Apuane hospital (+2 compared to yesterday), of which 14 in intensive care (+2 compared to yesterday). In the hospital of Versilia 91 hospitalized, of which 3 in intensive care. 28 were admitted to the Pontedera hospital, of which 2 were in intensive care. In Cecina hospital 21 patients, 3 of them in intensive care. The hospitalized at Barga 1 hospital.
Finally, based on the daily monitoring, throughout the territory of the USL Tuscany North West Company, to date (December 29) there are 10,726 (-162 compared to yesterday) people in quarantine for having had contact with infected people.
