There are 1768 cases of coronavirus in Sicily reported in the last 24 hours, with 11,500 swabs. So, with practically the same number of exams as yesterday, infections have increased significantly and therefore the positivity rate, which goes from 11.52% to 15.37%, well above the national average (12.46%). Sadly, the new record of victims is also noteworthy: 49 in 24 hours, never that many.
With the new cases, the current positives amount to 38,508 with an increase of 188. Of these 1,798 are hospitalized, 26 less than yesterday: 1,545 patients in ordinary regimen and 253 in intensive care, still 3 more than yesterday. There are 36,710 people in home isolation. The healed are 1,531. On the front of the distribution between provinces: Palermo has 516 cases, Catania 502, Ragusa 180, Messina 126, Trapani 116, Enna 109, Siracusa 82, Caltanissetta 80, Agrigento 57.
The curve of the epidemic in Italy turns slightly uphill: 29,003 cases today, against 25,853 yesterday, with 232,711 swabs, about 2,700 more than yesterday. The percentage of positive swabs, after having collapsed yesterday to 11.2%, returns to 12.4%, but it should be noted that compared to last Thursday, the new cases are more than 7 thousand less.
The death toll is still high, 822 today, a hundred more than yesterday, for a total of 52,850 victims. On the other hand, the trend of hospitalizations is comforting: those of the ordinary regime continue to fall (-275, yesterday -264), and fall to 34,038, while for the first time in several weeks, intensive care has also had a minus sign , 2 less than yesterday (when there were 32 more), for a total of 3,846.
