Today in Puglia there are 180 new cases of coronavirus. This was announced by the region in the regular bulletin. Registry of swabs, up to 5588 analyzed in the last 24 hours: 92 positive cases were found in the province of Bari, 1 in the province of Brindisi, 18 in the province of BAT, 40 in the province of Foggia, 7 in the province of Lecce, 18 in the province of Taranto, 2 cases with unknown province of residence, 2 cases outside the region. Two deaths were recorded: 1 in the province of Bari and 1 in the province of Taranto.
461,971 tests have been carried out since the emergency began. 5,235 recovered patients. 3,998 are currently positive cases. The total of positive cases of Covid in Puglia is 9,849, divided as follows: 3,995 in the province of Bari; 914 in the province of Bat; 804 in the province of Brindisi; 2,407 in the province of Foggia; 900 in the province of Lecce; 748 in the province of Taranto; 77 attributed to residents outside the region; 4 province of unknown residence.
LOPALCO: THE HOSPITALS ARE NOT STILL STRESS – In Puglia “at the moment there is no strong pressure on hospitals, we are managing to cope with hospitalizations due to Covid and not due to Covid without difficulty”. This was stated by Professor Pierluigi Lopalco, head of the regional working group for the coronavirus emergency and regional health adviser in Pectore.
According to the Gimbe Foundation, Puglia is among the seven regions where the percentage of hospitalized Covid cases is higher than the national average (6.6%) and stands at 8.9%.
“In intensive care – Lopalco explains – fortunately there are few cases, so we have a wide availability of beds and respirators.” According to the latest data, updated yesterday, 19 Covid patients hospitalized in resuscitation compared to 305 places available throughout the region. «Obviously – continues Lopalco – we monitor the situation every day through daily meetings with the managers of the structures. There are areas where the pressure is perhaps higher, but with mutual help we can manage and redistribute patients without worry. There has been an increase in hospitalizations since late summer, but as the number of patients increases we are reactivating the beds. In Puglia, until yesterday, there were 326 total hospitalizations for Covid.
LOPALCO: SCHOOLS DON’T WORRY NOW – «We have no evidence that Covid-19 infections are being generated within the schools of Apulia, they are infections contracted in the family or, in any case, outside the institutions.
