MASSA-CARRARA – In Tuscany there are 94,705 cases of coronavirus positivity, 1,929 more than yesterday (1,229 identified in the course of screening and 700 from detection activities). New cases are 2.1% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 6.1% and reached 39,765 (42% of all cases). The swabs performed reached 1,457,791, 17,481 more than yesterday, of which 11% were positive. Instead, 7,590 subjects tested today (excluding control swabs), of which 25.4% were positive. These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region. The average age of 1,929 cases today is around 50 years (9% are under 20, 21% between 20 and 39, 35% between 40 and 59, 23% between 60 and 79, 11% are 80 years or older) . The Region recalls that as of 06/24/2020, the Ministry of Health changed the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated by province of notification but by province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 26,703 total cases to date in Florence (611 more than yesterday), 8,334 in Prato (144 more), 8,152 in Pistoia (164 more), 5,938 a Massa-Carrara (119 plus: Carrara 40, Massa 32, Aulla 17, Bagnone 1, Casola in Lunigiana 1, Comano 5, Fivizzano 8, Fosdinovo 2, Licciana Nardi 7, Podenzana 1, Pontremoli 4, Tresana 1), 9,376 in Lucca (233 more), 12,974 in Pisa (273 more), 6,641 in Livorno (115 more), 8,808 in Arezzo (152 more), 3,936 in Siena (60 more), 3,288 in Grosseto (58 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
Therefore, there are 919 cases found today in the ASL Center (sum of the provinces of Florence, Prato, Pistoia), 740 in the northwest (Massa-Carrara, Lucca, Pisa, Livorno), 270 in the southeast (Arezzo, Siena , Grosseto).
Tuscany ranks seventh in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 2,539 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 2,287 per 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces with the highest notification rate are Prato with 3,234 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,096, Massa-Carrara with 3,047, the lowest Siena with 1,473.
In general, 50,641 people are isolated in their homes, since they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (405 less than yesterday, less 0.8%).
There are 49,888 (288 less than yesterday, less 0.6%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (ASL Center 17,881, Northwest 21,310, Southeast 10,697).
The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 2,083 (11 less than yesterday, less 0.5%), 298 in intensive care (2 more than yesterday, more 0.7%). The total number of people cured is 39,765 (2,294 more than yesterday, plus 6.1%): 2,440 people clinically cured (156 more than yesterday, plus 6.8%), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting associated clinical manifestations a Infection and 37,325 (2,138 more than yesterday, plus 6.1%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.
Today there are 51 new deaths: 25 men and 26 women with an average age of 85.5 years. Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 59.4 per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 81.6 per 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa-Carrara (134.4 per 100,000), Florence (80.8 per 100,000) and Pistoia (58.5 per 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto ( 19.9 per 100,000).
THE SITUATION IN ASL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for covid-19, in the Northwest Tuscany Usl hospitals there are a total of 538 (yesterday there were 534), of which 74 (yesterday there were 75) in intensive care. In Livorno hospital 115 patients, of which 14 in intensive care. In the Lucca hospital 108 patients, 17 of them in intensive care. 107 hospitalized in the Apuane hospital (+2 compared to yesterday), of which 24 in intensive care (stable). In the Versilia hospital 112 hospitalized, of which 11 in intensive care. In the Pontedera hospital 47 patients, 5 of them in intensive care. In the Cecina hospital 27 patients, 3 of them in intensive care. At Pontremoli hospital 22 patients (+2).
Finally, based on the daily monitoring, in the entire territory of the USL Company of Northwest Tuscany, to date (November 22) there are 21,310 (+161 compared to yesterday) people in quarantine for having had contact with infected people.
