Benevento.

In the city, the reception given to Milan by resident fans and not Benevento has sparked some controversy. La Curva Sud also intervened on the issue through a note issued through social profiles. Here is the text:

We consider unacceptable the scenes seen yesterday near the city hotel that hosts AC Milan. In the course of a pandemic, at a delicate moment in which great sacrifices are being demanded of everyone, we do not believe that it is normal to see a group of Rossoneri fans gather and light torches to welcome the team that today will challenge Benevento. These are difficult things to digest, especially because on more than one occasion we have wanted to pay tribute to our players after achieving important results. We did not do it reluctantly regarding the situation and, above all, those who are in serious difficulties because of the virus. Next time, at this point, we won’t think more than once about going to the stadium to greet the team before or after a game. Why didn’t those on duty make sure that what was seen was avoided? In addition, we prefer not to express ourselves about those who were present and wore the Rossoneri colors despite being “Benevento”. For the love of God, everyone can make what they want and God forbid: but doing it this way, among other things showing the name of the city, is not correct. We also feel a little sorry for them, because they are forced to live daily as guests in foreign contexts, never feeling part of something that unites them to their land. For our part, we are looking forward to returning to Vigorito to support our colors with increasing strength and enthusiasm for a team that, we say, is honoring our jersey in the best possible way even in Serie A.
