“We consider it necessary New restrictive interventions before Wednesday: the outlook is critical, the pandemic is spreading rapidly throughout Europe and forces all countries to take measures to counteract the second wave ”. This was announced by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in the Chamber the new restrictions that the government is preparing to launch.
The premier announced that the country will be divided into three different areas, depending on the severity of the coronavirus infection in the individual regions calculated on the basis of the ISS weekly report.
Throughout Italy the “closing of shopping centers on holidays and before the holidays excluding essential activities, the closing of the corners of the betting areas, the closing – unfortunately – of museums and exhibitions ”. But not only: “The public transport capacity will be reduced to 50%and there will be restrictions on travel to and from high-risk regions. We also anticipate the comprehensive distance education for secondary schools, in the hope that it will be as short as possible. “
Finally, the most anticipated and feared announcement: there will be a curfew at “night”, even if the prime minister has not specified the time. The exact time will be decided after discussion with the Regions and Parliament. The prime minister also clarified why the new restrictions are due: “We are not experiencing unbearable pressure on intensive care, but we are experiencing a worrying increase in hospitalizations in other wards“And for that we need new limitations.
The decision to classify a region in a low, medium or high risk area will be decided by the Minister of Health. Where else the coronavirus pandemic spreads, there will be stricter restrictions which, however, has not yet been accounted for.
