Closed a kindergarten class, 20 blocks

A 2017 child tested positive in the Campolongo nursery, in the Santo Stefano municipality: the class was “sealed”, the teachers and classmates were placed in isolation waiting for the swab, as required by the protocol in these cases. But the kindergarten remains open. The case, however, does not make us face, once again, what is a real problem: the outbreaks and infections in Comelico. Precisely in that territory, between high and low Comelico, more than a fifth of the positives that can be counted in the province are distributed, or more than 25 out of every hundred cases. Only in Santo Stefano, as the Municipality pointed out last night with a post on social networks, there are “12 confirmed positive cases for Coronavirus and 24 people in quarantine.” Figures in which the asylum situation is not yet counted “since the results are not yet available” But what includes the alarming outbreak of the camping-pizzeria, in the town of Mas, in Santo Stefano di Cadore, closed in a hurry due to contagions from the owner family.
THE EMERGENCY
It is not known, at the moment, if the boy’s case may be related in any way to that outbreak of the camp. Yesterday, the Dolomiti Local Health Authority 1 said in a concise statement: «Positive a family contact of a three-year-old child of a positive subject (also identified with a swab after contact tracing). Public health actions are being carried out in schools: isolation of asylum companions and generalized swabbing for a total of about twenty people. USL Prevention Department staff will go up to Santo Stefano today, perhaps with a mobile unit, to test the child’s kindergarten friends, teachers and other staff who have had contact with the child. Meanwhile, the director of the comprehensive school, Morena De Bernardo, after contacting the Covid manager and coordinating with the USL, has implemented all the necessary procedures.
IN ISOLATION
The Campolongo kindergarten will develop regularly: the other students are not considered “contacts”. Only the small positive class will “shut down” pending the swab results. As in these cases, even with a negative test, the children and the staff of the section will remain at home for two weeks as a precaution and pending health checks. Students from other classes are not considered contacts as children and staff never carry out activities outside the spaces reserved for them, according to anti-Coronavirus regulations.
THE CONTAGION
There are several investigations into Comelico contagion and outbreaks being carried out by experts from the Crisis Unit of the Prevention Department. But the source of the infection is difficult to understand. The truth is that two employees of the Sappadino Hotel live in Comelico who ended up in the news due to a mini outbreak. However, it is difficult to say for sure if the virus got there.
THE USUAL
The Municipality published the contagion figures yesterday, explaining the choice as follows: “We publish prayerfully to adopt behaviors marked by serious compliance with the now known regulations.” There are 12 positives and 24 isolated and Mayor Oscar Meneghetti yesterday spent the day confronting the USL to seek the best solution to a situation that is becoming alarming: “We are concerned about the situation and, according to the health authority, we are trying to limit the spread of the virus. “And then he adds a more general consideration, beyond the last case of the three-year-old boy:” I invite fellow citizens to regain the level of care and good practices that characterized the period immediately after the confinement, to try to maintain I control the situation, as far as possible, directing my thoughts above all to the elderly, whom we must protect responsibly ».
