Christmas and Santo Stefano with snow in five provinces of Tuscany. The Region, in fact, issued the “yellow” alert for the risk of snow from the afternoon of December 25 to the morning of December 26. The alert mainly affects the northwest of Tuscany: here white flakes are expected even in hills.
Massa Carrara, Lucca, Pistoia, Prato, Florence and Arezzo are the provinces involved, as can also be seen in Lamma’s forecasts.
CHRISTMAS
The yellow alert affects the areas of Bisenzio and Ombrone Pistoiese, Mugello-Val di Sieve and Romagna Toscana (Alto Mugello). According to the regional functional center, from the afternoon of Friday 25, snowfalls are expected in the Apennines initially above 800-1000 meters, gradually decreasing in altitude to 400-500 meters in the afternoon, particularly in the Upper Mugello. Cumulative: at mountain altitudes up to 20 cm, in particular on the ridges and slopes of Emilia-Romagna; in hilly altitudes, in the Upper Mugello, up to 5 cm.
Also for Christmas Day, the Lamma Consortium foresees cloudy in the northern areas, more scattered clouds in the other areas. Precipitation mainly low at night and in the morning, more persistent in the afternoon when it will tend to affect mainly the Apennine areas.
SAN ESTEBAN
Cloudy at night with precipitation in the Apennines and in the eastern and central-southern interior areas of the region, with snow down to low altitudes (400-600 meters or locally lower). Tendency to big episodes from the end of the morning.
