Isolations and quarantine, the provisions of the Ministry and the number of buffers needed to change. A new circular of Ministry of Health therefore it changes the indications on how many days the quarantine of positives and close contacts should last, as well as the amount of buffers necessary to leave isolation. For him asymptomatic positive quarantine becomes 10 days (as long as you have a negative swab) as well as for i positive symptoms (but the negative swab should be done after at least 3 days without symptoms).
On the other hand, those who have no symptoms but still have a positive buffer, can come out of isolation after 21 days. The situation is different for close contacts of positives, who must observe a period of 14 days quarantine (which is reduced to 10 as long as you do the swab).
THE CIRCULAR OF THE MINISTRY The new circular published today updates the information on the duration and on the term of isolation and quarantine, “in consideration of the evolution of the epidemiological situation, new scientific evidence, indications – explains the ministry – of some international organizations (WHO and Ecdc) and of the opinion formulated by the Committee Technical-Scientific »At yesterday’s meeting.
These are the indications. Asymptomatic individuals who tested positive for Sars-Cov-2 may return to the community after a period of isolation from at least 10 days from the appearance of positivity, at the end of which is realized a negative molecular test (10 days + trial). Symptomatic positives may re-enter the community after a period of isolation at least 10 days the appearance of symptoms (without considering anosmia and ageusia / dysgeusia that may persist for a long time) accompanied by a negative molecular test performed after at least 3 days without symptoms (10 days, of which at least 3 days without symptoms + test).
People who, despite having no symptoms, continue to test positive for hyssop, in case of absence of symptoms (except for ageusia / dysgeusia and anosmia 4 which may last for some time after healing) for at least one week, they may stop isolation after 21 days the appearance of symptoms. This criterion – specified in the circular – can be modulated by health authorities in agreement with clinical experts and microbiologists / virologists, taking into account the immune status of the affected people (in immunosuppressed patients the period of contagion can be prolonged). THE close contacts of cases with Sars-Cov-2 infection confirmed and identified by health authorities, you must observe a 14-day quarantine period since the last exposure to the case; or a period of 10-day quarantine from the last exposure with negative antigen or molecular test performed on the 10th day.
The circular also recommends “carrying out the molecular test at the end of quarantine for all people who live or come in regular contact with people who are fragile and / or at risk of complications; provide differentiated access to the test for children; do not provide for quarantine or diagnostic testing on close contacts of close contacts of the case (i.e. there has been no direct contact with the confirmed case), unless the close contact of the Covid case is not subsequently positive for any tests diagnosis or in the event that, in the opinion of the health authorities, community screening is appropriate; promote the use of the Immuni app to support contact tracing activities.
