Cashback: the money is already gone

After the paltry billions of liquidity in April, announced at a press conference related to a “zero balance” decree, the first story we went back with him refund of money, announcing obtainable refunds up to 150 euros for Christmas purchases 2020 with debit and credit cards.

Too bad that article 11, paragraph 3, of the Reimbursement Implementation Decree (Ministerial Decree of 11.24.2020 n.156) establishes that, for purchases made in this period, the maximum limit of reimbursements that can be paid is 227.9 million euros. Therefore, it is not surprising that, compared to some 5.8 million Italians who have accumulated an average right of return of 35 euros, the institutional silence on the initiative is falling. The roughly 200 million that were available in the real world are simply gone. The one that the Palazzo Chigi communicators attend very little and the interpreter that he entrusts to them.

The resources available for refunds related to purchases made in the two semesters of 2021 and in the first semester of 2022 are much greater: approximately 1.35 billion per semester. It remains to be understood, in terms of value for money (4.75 billion in two years), the value of the initiative.
