During the weekend, the soldiers of the departments dependent on the Carabinieri Provincial Command of Bolzano, also in conjunction with those of the Antisophistication and Health Unit (NAS) of Trento, have more targeted controls in the mountain areas of the areas of skiing and aggregation of people like cabins and mountain huts and bars and restaurants at the bottom of the valley where potentially many people could gather in the so-called “apres-sky” for an aperitif or “happy hour”.
The services were carried out from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, mainly in the areas of Obereggen, Carezza, Val Gardena, Alpe di Siusi, Solda, Valle d’Isarco middle and high, Val Badia and all of Pusteria but also in Bassa Atesina.
Precisely in this last area, despite the fact that there are no ski areas, 37 commercial establishments were controlled at high altitude and more than a hundred at the bottom of the valley with 247 identified people. Two people, club sponsors, were sanctioned for violating anti-covid regulations. In addition to them, a manager of a bar in Aldino was fined for having kept his public establishment open for more than two hours compared to the time allowed.
In Solda, ten people were registered in three public places, therefore, low participation, all respecting anti-covid precautions and therefore without sanctions.
The Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Bressanone and those of the NAS of Trento today, with the collaboration of the staff of the forest stations of Bressanone, Chiusa and Rio di Pusteria of the Provincial Forest Corps, between the municipalities of Bressanone, Villandro, Rio di Pusteria, Rodengo and Luson, as part of a coordinated service focused on verifying compliance with the anti-contagion regulations issued to contain the covid-19 pandemic, controlled seventeen shelters and cabins located in the mountain areas of the aforementioned municipalities, even outside the areas ski resorts (currently still closed) known to be a destination for busy hikes and skis. Two people reported during the activity. The owner of a shelter in the Luson Alps for lack of “HACCP” self-control procedures, for not complying with some procedures related to food storage and the manager of another shelter, in the Rodengo Alps, for not having used of the respiratory protection devices provided; in all, sixty-eight people were identified. In all cases there were no gatherings or verified violations of social distancing.
In Obereggen, on Saturday, the carabinieri of the Bolzano company administratively sanctioned a Trentino from Caldonazzo who had no justification for moving from one province to another, the manager of a shack that had too many people among his clients compared to the possible number, plus many of the customers too close to each other without the manager calling them to order. Eighty people were identified on the spot.
In the upper Val Pusteria between Sesto, Dobbiaco, Braies, Villabassa, Monguelfo Valdaora and Anterselva, the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di San Candido and the employees of the Stations controlled thirty-two public establishments, four of which in height. The result of the controls is positive, compliance with the standards is generally widespread. Ninety-six identified persons of which thirty-six penalized. The number of sanctions is high because of the 29 people controlled in Valdaora, 29 were sanctioned for violating the rule that prohibits ski mountaineering on the ski slopes, even if they were closed to the public. Only seven out of ninety-six people sanctioned for violating anti-covid rules, including no manager of public establishments.
In Burgraviato the Carabinieri did not find the presence of many people on the mountain. They searched six high-rise rooms and nine at the bottom of the valley with 72 people present in total. No manager was sanctioned. In Moso in Passiria, one was fined because his nose and mouth were not covered. While they were in San Leonardo, two were fined for having violated the driving ban between 10 pm and 5 am without just cause. One of them refused to take a breathalyzer test, for which he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and his pick-up car was seized for the purpose of seizure.
Apart from the controls in public places, a motorist suffered the withdrawal of his license and the complaint for drunk driving in Valle di Casies. He was driving his SUV after drinking and it had an alcohol content of between 1.2 and almost 1.6 grams of alcohol.
