Jogging, his passion. But while he was running down the road that goes from the center of Capua to Sant’Angelo in Formis, he was hit by a car carrying two children: he died like that. Antonio Montaquila, 38, marshal of the carabinieri, Deputy Commander of the Formicola Carabinieri Station. It happened around 7pm.
Montaquila was the youngest noncommissioned officer of the Capua company, father of a six year old boy. The body is still in place, on via Tifatina, where the station soldiers immediately rushed to cry.
Reconstruction
According to the account of some witnesses, the car was heading towards the village of Sant’Angelo in Formis when it went off the road and collided with the corridor. Antonio Montaquila passed away moments after the impact.
