The automotive sector is one of the sectors that is suffering the most in this period of health and economic emergency. The alarm cry of the operators of the sector has already been launched. The government seems to be geared towards supporting the automotive world with new incentives.

The agreement, reached in the Committee on Productive Activities of the Chamber and now under review by the Committee on Budgets of the Chamber, provides for the refinancing of the extra bonus for purchases of electric and hybrid vehicles for the whole of 2021 and a new incentive for the purchase of Euro six type thermal motor vehicles, with simultaneous scrapping of vehicles with at least 10 years old, for the first half of 2021, to face the very serious crisis in the sector.

Also to bring aid to the most difficult productive sectors, a measure is introduced to support the purchase, also through scrapping, of industrial vehicles.

Therefore, funds are foreseen for 250 million euros for thermal, 120 million euros for electricity (in addition to the 370 million euros already allocated, raising the funds for 2021 for tap vehicles to 490 million) and 50 million for commercial (contributing 10 million entirely for ‘electricity), who will be able to access the scrapping incentive.

The majority agreement of the Commission was sent to the leaders of the classroom groups and to the Government.
