No more red zone for Campania. The control room of the Ministry of Health has in fact decided to return the region to the orange area. The data of these days, in fact, augurs well with the contagion curve that continues to fall. Today the percentage of positive swab is 8.8% of shares, yesterday it was 9.3%. Encouraging data, therefore. But the invitation of Governor Vincenzo De Luca is nevertheless clear: rigor is needed. De Luca, who says he fully agrees with the measures taken by the government for the next Christmas holidays, mainly the stop to travel between regions and municipalities, today, in the usual direct Fb, he was somewhat optimistic. “We have confirmation of what it had allowed me to anticipate, and that is that Campania will ultimately be the region that comes out of Covid before the others, better than the others and in a context of total transparency. A little patience but we are getting there ”, he began.
He anticipates what aspect of the next ordinance, not to return to second homes, and calls into question a situation, for now, under control in hospitals. “The Campania region is still the one with the lowest percentage of mortality in Italy – explained De Luca – We have no difficulties with hospitalizations. We are below 40% of the occupancy of beds for intensive care, we have dropped to an occupation ranging from 160 to 180 admissions to therapy. We have doubled our intensive therapy from February to today, the employment rate is 26-27%. We are in an excellent situation. “The outbreaks certainly continue to die out: after the zone red taken for the Roma camp in Scampia, today there is concern for twenty-two nuns who tested positive for Covid-19 at the Mazzarello religious institute in Torre Annunziata (Naples). infected, there are six older than ninety years, while the others have more 80 years of age: none currently presents symptoms that require hospitalization and all have been isolated in the structure of via Cavour.
Then there is Casertano, among the worst affected areas of Campania: nine people died in the last 24 hours. Very high, as has been the case for almost two weeks, the number of cured patients: 945, compared to 261 new positivities found in 2,144 swabs performed (positive test rate at 12.2%, slightly increasing). And there is also another front that will undoubtedly represent a critical issue: with the orange zone, there is the closure of many stores for Campania, just now that they expected to revive the fortunes in the face of Christmas shopping. “We need to reopen this weekend – said the owner of a men’s clothing store this morning – the next one would be too late and especially on the street there would be chaos because people would have little more than a week for Christmas shopping.”
