This is the phone call from an elderly man from Alto Reno Terme that the operator of the Carabinieri Operations Center in Vergato received this morning. Upon hearing the news, the Carabinieri from Alto Reno Terme station went to the house of the old man who was waiting for them. Seeing the military, Fiorenzo was moved and welcomed them with a warm Christmas toast.
The anecdotes that Mr. Malavolti told the two Carabinieri are inevitable, such as that of his father-in-law, Marshal Francesco Sferrazza, who at the time of World War II commanded the Carabinieri Station in Porretta Terme, later destroyed during the bombardment.
