Boy is killed by a school bus – Chronicle

Castagneto Carducci (Livorno), September 16, 2020 – Tragedy in Donoratico, a village of Castagneto Carducci. A 4 year old boy was run over by the school bus and died instantly. It happened around 1 pm in via Mazzini, near the boy’s house.

The Misericordia di San Pietro in Palazzi intervened at the site and the Pegasus was also landed, but unfortunately there was nothing to do for the little one. As reconstructed by lifeguards, the child would have been riding his bike and would have appeared on the street among the cars parked near the curb when he was hit by the passing school bus. The boy was immediately rescued by the 118 volunteers, but died on the spot due to the reported trauma. He also activated the Pegasus helicopter. In the place, for the findings and investigations of the case, municipal police and carabinieri intervened.

“An incredible fatality, a very strong pain. Now we cannot avoid gathering around this family. It is impossible to say more than one tragedy that affects an entire community.” The mayor of Castagneto Carducci (Livorno) Sandra Scarpellini said so

The condolences of the company

The “deepest condolences” for “the tragic accident that today caused the death of a child in Donoratico” was expressed by Tiemme, the transport company to which the school bus involved belongs, together with its president, the board of directors, the CEO and the entire company. “The company – reads a note again – expresses its closeness to the mother and family of the child, as well as to the entire community affected by this tragic accident and to the driver who was driving the fully involved accidental school bus.”
