Botti: budget, one dead and 79 injured, 23 hospitalized – Ultima Ora

(ANSA) – ROME, JANUARY 1 – The budget for New Year’s Eve 2021 is one dead and 79 injured, of which 23 were hospitalized, according to data provided by the Department of Public Security. Data showing a decrease, defined as “slight” compared to 2020.

Last year the balance was one dead and 204 injured, of which 38 were hospitalized.

The only victim was a 13-year-old boy (whose identification data is currently not available) who took place in Asti in a nomadic camp around midnight (00:37 now death) due to the explosion of a battery of firecrackers that struck your abdomen. The incident caused public order problems at the hospital, where the minor was transferred after the accident, with the intervention of police officers from the local police station to assist the Carabinieri, who were attacked by the minor’s family. Last year there were 9 injuries due to the use of firearms, while this year there were 13 cases of which 1 with a prognosis greater than 40 days.

The data, in relation to the severity of the reported injuries, show: with reference to minor injuries, prognosis less than or equal to 40 days, 67 cases compared to 193 the previous year; with reference to the most seriously injured, that is, those with a prognosis of more than 40 days, 12 people: compared to 11 last year. With regard in particular to injuries to minors, there was a decrease in the global figure: 8 minors reported injuries, while last year there were 43. It is noteworthy that the data related to infradicennial injuries decreased from 23 in 2020 to 3 in current year, while the one relating to minors between 13 and 17 years old, went from 20 last year to 6 in 2021.
