In Dall’Ara, for the eleventh round of Serie A, Bologna-Roma are on stage, but there is only one team on the pitch. And before a spectacle, or rather a sports massacre of that type, not even the exhausting rossoblùs linked to the countless defections, last on the list that of Hickey near the game (cold, isolation at home and new tampon). Fonseca’s team, disqualified and replaced on the bench by deputy Nuno Santos, literally does what he wants and goes 3-0 after a quarter of an hour, transferring the unfortunate rookie Ravaglia thanks to an unfortunate own goal by Poli in a center from Spinazzola in 5 ‘, surgical left by Dzeko in 10’ and Pellegrini’s peremptory target in 15 ‘, facilitated by a Bolognese defense totally on the ball (Danilo and De Silvestri in primis).
The Giallorossi really do it all, including the 1-3 goal, with Cristante putting Pau López into a Barrow cross in the 24th minute. Then he continues the shot towards the rival goal, only postponed by a couple of great saves from poor Ravaglia (for him also a knee problem) on Dzeko and Pellegrini and for two errors by the Bosnian, one with the head and the other with the foot: at 35 ‘Veretout scores on Pellegrini’s filter and in the 44th minute Mkhitaryan closes the first ‘set’ by throwing a precise support from Karsdorp to the bag (Mbaye also hurts in action, stretching). A total disaster, difficult to find other definitions.
At the beginning of the second half Mihajlovic replaces the Senegalese side, Poli and Svanberg with Paz, Medel and Domínguez, going to three in defense, and at least the team finds an iota of dignity, refusing a solar penalty in the 7th minute for a lack of Ibáñez. on Palacio and a goal from Domínguez in the 13th minute for a previous millimeter of offside from the same ‘Trenza’. The guests jog, control the situation without spending too much and make 6-1 with a delicate lob of Pellegrini, this also nevertheless canceled by the VAR for offside. The only good news, at Rossoblù’s home, comes in the 33rd minute, and is the debut in Serie A of the son of art Mattia Pagliuca (who, however, is a forward by profession), in addition to the aforementioned Federico Ravaglia.
In the last minutes of the game, after two good chances for the recently-entered Borja Mayoral (post with a careless goal and a miracle from Ravaglia), Domínguez has the brilliant idea of being sent off for an unorthodox tackle on Villar, with the red card that luck turns yellow after a in field review (The tackle is inconsiderate but does not touch Romanist number 14). The final triple whistle therefore sounds like a liberation, and puts an end to one of the worst afternoons in the recent history of Bologna, the result of a performance difficult to accept and even more difficult to comment on. With the fear that you will lift your head and turn the page, after such a blow, it will be terribly complicated.
