“We can only take note of the government’s decision, now it is up to the competent authorities to establish the legitimacy or not of the provision.
We believe that ours is a legitimate ordinance also because it is based on solid and scientific bases from the health aspect because it is approved by our health company.
Consequently, we believe that this is also a harmful action towards our territory, in the sense that Trentino has treated its patients only in the difficult period of the pandemic, we were able to get out of it and we also carry out innovative operations in the health sector in the last weeks. Therefore, to see this prevarication we believe that it is wrong towards the Trentino area ». This was stated in a video statement sent to ANSA by the president of the autonomous province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, about the announcement by Minister Francesco Boccia about the challenge to the ordinance issued by the Trentino president, which is less restrictive than the Decree of the Prime Minister of Government.

Boccia: immediate action against those who do not respect the prohibitions.

The Minister for Regional Affairs, Francesco Boccia, sent the request for an appeal against the measures adopted by the autonomous province of Trento. The same provision – the minister declares in a note – will be activated for all autonomous regions and provinces that decide to circumvent the provisions of the Prime Minister’s Decree. The ordinance of the autonomous province of Bolzano is being evaluated.

In the report of the Provincial Health Authority of Trento, 191 new positive cases are indicated, of which 128 are symptomatic, of the 2,761 swabs analyzed. Unfortunately, the death situation is also getting worse: another 5 were registered, all referring to the elderly, 1 in RSA and 4 in the hospitals of Trento and Rovereto. Hospital admissions also increased, reaching 100, with 6 patients in intensive care (one more than yesterday).
The death toll is also increasing in South Tyrol: in the last 24 hours, according to the provincial health authority, there are 4 new deaths bringing to 304 the total number of people who have lost their lives in the province of Bolzano between hospitals and rest homes, from the start of the health emergency. In addition, 190 new positive cases are reported from 2,062 swabs (893 new tests) processed by the laboratories of the Sanitary Company in the last 24 hours.

Dozens of restaurateurs, bartenders and restaurant owners descended on Trento’s Piazza Duomo this morning to protest against the new restrictive measures desired by the government to deal with the pandemic. The event, convened nationally by Confcommercio, was held simultaneously in several places in Italy. Armed with tablecloths, glasses, cutlery and cushions for half an hour, they sat, silently unfurling protest posters.
