Blackmailed priest after sexual acts (movies)

Red light scandal in the diocesan Caritas of Foggia. The events date from a period between December 2017 and the end of March 2018 and refer to a member of the welfare and charitable work.

The story came to light after the Foggia Prosecutor’s Office notified two suspects, both 39 years old from Foggia, the notice of conclusion of the preliminary investigations, accusing them of aggravated extortion against the Catholic priest, whom they allegedly robbed with blackmail. the sum of € 11,500, after having asked for 20,000.

According to the reconstruction of the investigators and the victim’s complaint, there were sexual acts between the priest and one of the two suspects, who also suffered from severe cognitive impairment (as stated in the notice of conclusion of the investigation). This investigated person would have made a video of a sexual relationship, obviously without the knowledge of the Caritas priest, and then he would have passed these videos to the accomplice, who then would have used them to blackmail the victim, with the threat that, if not had paid € 20,000, the images would be made public through the well-known program ‘Le Iene’.

Out of fear of scandal, the priest would have paid the considerable sum of 11,500 euros of the 20,000 requested by the alleged extortionists in various installments, later filing a complaint against the two inhabitants of Foggia.
Once the notification of the conclusion of the preliminary investigations has been received, it is almost certain that these serious events will go to trial in the coming months.

The defender of one of the two suspects (the one who allegedly threatened to reveal the videos of the red light) is the lawyer Michele Sodrio (in the photo below), who thus responds to the accusations against his client: “First that nothing I want premise that I am sad and bitter about this story, because I know and appreciate the priest involved, but I am sure that it is a sensational mystification of reality against my client, who has not committed any extortion and in fact has done everything possible to solve the problem, he asks without harming the priest but also trying to protect his fraternal friend, who suffers from a severe cognitive deficit, who had somehow been subjugated by the priest’s personality and therefore had consented to perform homosexual acts, although he did not have that particular inclination. “

“Far from me to make judgments about the sexual inclinations of anyone, even when it comes to a Catholic priest, but neither can a person be accused of crimes as serious as the one in question just to give a sweetened version of the facts for their own benefit In recent months my client had already been subjected to a lengthy interrogation at the Prosecutor’s Office, in my presence, clarifying how things really were and flatly denying that those infamous red light videos existed and that there was ever any blackmail. Now we are going to acquire the investigation documents and we will see what the prosecutor has in his hands, ”continues the lawyer.

“I will limit myself only to observing that in the face of such a serious accusation, in 100% of the cases, if there is sufficient evidence, the defendants are arrested, either in jail or at home.
