The territory of Bisceglie, like that of 17 other municipalities in Apulia included for a few days in the orange zone, will return to the yellow zone as of Monday, December 14. The President of the Region made it known Michele Emiliano via a post published Sunday night.

“Based on the controls carried out by the Health Department of the Puglia Region in the last monitoring week, the orange zone in the municipalities of the Bat and Foggia provinces that had been the subject of an ordinance last week, and that therefore it will enter the yellow zone like all of Puglia, “he said.

“We are consulting with the mayors of Gravina and Altamura the data of these municipalities of the Metropolitan Area of Bari to decide whether or not to expand,” he added.

“Apulia, which has never entered the red zone, was hit by the second wave later than other regions, but with very high figures of 67 thousand infections compared to only 5 thousand from the first wave. Today we can say that the signs of improvement that had already led the Ministry of Health and the ISS to reclassify all of Puglia in the yellow zone last week, and which were confirmed with the latest follow-up report, are progressively consolidating and now affect all provinces.

Infections are reduced and hospitalizations are reduced and this is thanks to compliance with restrictive measures, despite the sacrifices that have involved: we will continue to closely monitor the situation, municipality by municipality, hospital by hospital, as we have always done, to be prepared to intervene if the situation changes.
However, this is a delicate moment: if we want the contagion curve to continue to decline and, above all, if we want it to not rise again, the behaviors that each of us will have in the coming days are decisive ”, he stressed.

“We must keep our guard up, respect preventive measures everywhere, at work, in our free time, at home.
Only in this way can we avoid going back to the limitations of the last weeks, or even more severe measures, devastating for many productive categories, and protect ourselves and the most fragile people we love ”. Emiliano.
