Bari kills her ex’s 26-year-old boyfriend and injures her father and girl: arrested

Nicola Brescia, 26, from Bitetto, Bari province, was stabbed to death tonight during an argument with her girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. The 22-year-old girl and the 50-year-old father of the victim were also injured, both hospitalized respectively at the Di Venere di Carbonara hospital and at the San Paolo hospital. They would not be in danger of death.

The perpetrator of the stabbing is a convict, blocked shortly after the fact and currently detained in flagrante delicto on charges of voluntary manslaughter and double attempted murder.

The murder took place on the street around 3:30 a.m. in front of the entrance hall of the building where the victim lived with her parents and where the girl occasionally stopped to sleep. According to an initial reconstruction of the events, the woman’s former partner would have arrived at the house in the middle of the night.

The fight, whose dynamics the researchers reconstruct, would have a passionate motive. The killer had not accepted the end of the relationship. At the height of the fight, the 26-year-old, with a knife that the police are still looking for, mortally wounded Brescia with at least five blows to the chest, abdomen and back and also stabbed the ex-partner and the father of the victim by hitting them on the trunk.

When 118 arrived at the crime scene, he tried in vain to revive Brescia but he was already dead, while the two wounded were taken to hospital. The carabinieri immediately located the killer, who had meanwhile fled, blocking him on his way home.
