The bad weather that has hit Italy in these hours has also affected Naples, with rains, strong winds and a storm on the Caracciolo seafront (FORECASTS). The force of the waves caused damage to the parapets of the sidewalks, in the section from Piazza Vittoria to the old Faculty of Economics. The sea, in several places, has invaded the road, bringing debris to the asphalt and creating problems for passing cars. The local police command has ordered the garrison and the closure of via Partenope, at the height of Piazza Vittoria, diverting the flow of cars in the Riviera di Chiaia, through the alternative route of Corso Vittorio Emanuele and the ring road to reach to the center.

Weather forecast for Tuesday December 29

Via Partenope will also remain closed in the early morning hours of December 29, to allow for damage detection and restoration of the road system after debris removal. The external structures of the many restaurants and bars facing Via Partenope are also damaged by water and wind. Along the section of the road you can see bent and displaced gazebos and umbrellas, as well as broken or deformed metal structures, also washed away on the parapet or scattered on the asphalt.
