Grains the size of walnuts, fallen trees and a lightning bolt that sets fire: bad weather hits the Ancona area

ANCONA – A violent flight of steps fell on Ancona in the early afternoon, with walnut-sized grains damaging numerous parked cars and also piercing the shutters. Hail, accompanied by strong gusts of wind, fell in the Posatora area, in the historic center, in the new districts (Monte Dago, via Togliatti, Sparapani and Tiraboschi) and in other areas of the city. Several trees have fallen, one along the road to Posatora, damage especially in via Monte Vettore, in via Monte Pennino Sibillini. Trees blown down by the wind also ended up on the street in Agugliano, Offagna and other towns in the province, while in Santa Maria Nuova lightning caused a fire in a field. Firefighters are currently involved in numerous interventions, especially in the interior of Ancona. But with the passage of the minutes, the situation also became difficult in other provinces of the region such as Ascoli and Fermo.
