Bad weather is coming, ORANGE alert for thunderstorms in much of the Savona area

Liguria. A disturbance from France is approaching northwestern Italy and will also affect Liguria, with rains, showers and thunderstorms. Therefore, Arpal has issued the weather alert for widespread showers and thunderstorms.



In speaker (the coast from Andora to Noli) will be yellow in small and medium basins from 8:00 pm today (Sunday, September 6) to 9:00 am tomorrow (Monday, September 7). In Eastern savona (from Spotorno to Varazze) ed insideinstead, it will be yellow from 8pm today to midnight, it will turn orange until noon tomorrow, and it will turn yellow from 12pm to 3pm.

The worsening of the meteorological conditions is preceded by the intensification of the southern flow that leads to an increase in cloud cover. The first phenomena are expected in the afternoon while at night the precipitations will intensify with thunderstorms that will also be locally strong and that can affect all areas of the region. During the night and morning of Monday 7 we will still have showers and storms, even strong, which will always be possible throughout the region, with a higher probability of persistent phenomena in the center of the region (zone B) on the slopes of Po Levant (zone E) in the westernmost part of zone C (Levante regional) and in the easternmost part of zone D (slopes of the Po de Ponente valley). A high probability of strong phenomena will persist also in the Regional Rapporteur (zone A), in particular in the Finale area. The phenomena will slowly fade from the afternoon on: however, residual instability will remain in the inland areas with possible storms still.

TODAY SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6: the descent from France of an Atlantic cavity determines conditions of instability in Liguria, more pronounced in the afternoon when intense rains are expected with a predominant storm character with a high probability of strong or organized phenomena in B, D, E, eastern part of A and western part of C.

TOMORROW MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7: from the early hours of the night to the early hours of the afternoon conditions of marked instability that in the presence of convergent humid flows favor precipitations with a predominantly stormy character of intensity to very strong with significant cumulative areas in B, D and E: high probability of strong, organized and locally persistent phenomena in B, D, E, western part of C, eastern part of D; possible strong phenomena also in the eastern part of A. Reinforcement of locally strong N to winds in the afternoon in the Center-Ponente.

AFTER TAKE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8: residual instability with possible scattered showers at most until dawn. Moderate to locally strong north winds with gusts of up to 50/60 km / h in the central-western reliefs.
