A storm broke out at night between Thursday and Friday over Milan. Due to violent rains the rivers Seveso and Lambro overflowed around 3: the first flood, as unfortunately usual, of the district of Niguarda while the second involved the park of the same name Lambrate. The violent rains were accompanied by strong gusts of wind, while in some areas of the city also acclaimed. Some streets of Milan, especially in the areas near Niguarda, remained in the dark, without electricity: blackout which continued for a long time and affected several neighborhoods.

The alert was already activated on Thursday afternoon: the city of Milan, in fact, had ordered the activation of the Municipal operations center (Coc) from 6 p.m., following the meteorological reports on the risk of severe thunderstorms issued by the Functional Monitoring Center Natural Hazards from the Lombardy region. In the afternoon, the rains began which, with the passing of the hours, became increasingly violent. In minutes the level of the two rivers It went up in an impressive way, until at three in the morning, as mentioned, the Seveso was flooded near Via Valfurva, followed by Lambro. Many calls to the fire station to inform streets, underpasses and cellars submerged in water. The civil protection alarm was immediately activated to try to stop the floods and restore electricity in the areas that remain in the dark.
