The Minister of Education, Lucía Azzolina, in relation to Canale 5, takes stock of the school world in light of the latest events related to the Covid-19 emergency.

“De Luca’s words? I am not in controversy with him. Campania is the only region in the country, perhaps even in all of Europe that has closed schools since March, the children of Campania at the moment do not have the same rights as other children in the rest of Italy. School is the productive activity par excellence and in any case there is no contrast with productive activities. A civilized country is interested in them working in the best way. “

And so: “Come back before Christmas? At the moment no decision has been made. There is an ongoing discussion: let’s see what happens, if anti-covid measures are relaxed, the school sector should also be part of it. It is no mystery that very little by little he wants to reopen the high school. If measures are relaxed for all sectors of the country, the same should also apply to schools. They are decisions that will be made in these hours and very gradually. I don’t think there should be conflicts ”.

“At school on the weekends? On Saturday many young people already go to school, especially in the south, Sunday is not a viable hypothesis, families and students do not want it; It was a proposal to help, but I don’t think it can be done. Transportation does not affect elementary or secondary schools. For secondary schools there are critical problems but they do not concern the whole country. In the small provinces, transportation works well. If it is necessary to stagger the entries we will do it, they are measures that must be decided territory by territory. The transportation problem does not exist for the entire national territory ”.

In transport: “In Milan, some schools before going to Dad started at 11 or 12. We are available as a ministry to further stagger the entries. In cities with millions of inhabitants, more measures must be taken; in some regions he spent on transportation, I appreciated the words of Governor Bonaccini very much ”.

Still: “Zero risk does not exist, but our schools are very safe.”
