New record of coronavirus cases in Germany, where 23,542 infections have been registered in the last 24 hours. The Robert Koch Institute reports this, updating the total positives to 751,095. Instead, the total number of people who lost their lives in Germany after contracting Covid-19 rose to 12,200, 218 more than yesterday.

Croatia, deaths on the rise
With 43 victims in the last 24 hours, Croatia today records a new daily death record, while there are 3,056 new infections, just thirty less than yesterday’s record. This was announced by the Civil Protection Crisis Unit. The number of patients with active infection has risen to 16,776, of which 1,620 are in hospital care, while the total of those in intensive care has not changed for now, 179 to date.
PGiven that Croatia is one of the European countries with a high incidence of infections per hundred thousand inhabitants, the country remains among the most open on the continent. All economic, social, cultural and sports activities are allowed with the obligation to wear masks inside. Schools and universities, gyms, cinemas and museums also remain open, while bars and restaurants can open until midnight. Stronger restrictions are only introduced at the local level in small municipalities or cities where there are large jumps in infections. Since the beginning of the epidemic in Croatia, 79,000 people have been infected with six hundred thousand swabs and a population of four million people.
United States, 143,000 cases in 24 hours
There is still a registry of coronavirus infections in the United States, where more than 140,000 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. As reported by Johns Hopkins University, there were 143,231 more cases in the country than yesterday, thus bringing the total number of infected people to 10,554,805. California then became the second state in the United States, after Texas, to cross the million mark. With almost seven thousand confirmed infections in 24 hours, there are 1,000,631 cases registered in the state.
New peak in Russia
Covid-19 cases in Russia continue to grow, where 21,983 new infections have been detected in the last 24 hours – the highest number since the start of the epidemic. The national anti-coronavirus operations center reports that 411 deaths caused by the Sars-Cov-2 virus were recorded during the last day. In total, according to official data, there are 1,880,551 infections and 32,443 deaths from Covid-19 in Russia.
Also record in Ukraine
In Ukraine in the last 24 hours there have been 11,787 new cases of Covid-19: the highest number since the beginning of the epidemic. This was announced by the Minister of Health, Maksim Stepanov, according to which 172 deaths caused by the Sars-Cov-2 virus were recorded during the last day in the former Soviet republic. In total, according to official data, 512,652 cases of Covid-19 and 9,317 deaths caused by the disease have been determined in Ukraine.
China, few infections and only imported
No locally transmitted Covid-19 infections were reported in mainland China yesterday, where another 8 imported cases were recorded. This was announced in today’s bulletin of the National Health Commission of China. Of the imported cases, three were reported in Shanghai, while Inner Mongolia, Henan, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu each reported one. The commission added that no new suspected cases or new deaths related to the new coronavirus have been reported. Yesterday, in mainland China, 27 patients affected by Covid-19 were discharged from hospitals after recovering. As of last night, a total of 3,662 imported cases had been reported in mainland China. Of these, 3,308 had been discharged from hospitals after recovering and 354 were still hospitalized. No deaths were reported among the imported cases.
Iran, another 461 dead
The hypothesis of a two-week total lockdown in Tehran is becoming more and more widespread, with the third wave of infections continuing to claim victims by imposing unsustainable pressure on health facilities. Thus, the official number of victims amounts to 40,582, while infections exceed 738 thousand.
