Almost a week after the start of the lessons, the ATS announces that 907 nasopharyngeal swabs were performed on the students on Friday, September 18: the results determined 4 positive and 1 weakly positive. Five schools are affected by the class quarantine after the positive results found.
Ats Bergamo has carried out an intense coaching activity towards schools and pediatricians of free choice, as Massimo Giupponi, general director of Ats, points out: “On Thursday we had a call with about 70 out of 130 pediatricians for the aspects of their competence. We also promoted three calls with the directors of state public schools, peer colleges and kindergartens, managing to engage with about 450 directors. We analyzed with them the protocol prepared by our Department of Dips already at the beginning of September that the schools had received through the provincial office of the school (the nurseries through the Department of Paapss of Ats), a document that was later updated with the content of the regional circular. The Bergamo Health Protection Agency was the first to prepare and transmit a protocol dedicated to the issue of schools to the provincial school office, but also to municipalities and doctors.

THE TREATMENT
A student who has symptoms at school or at home accesses the tampon after listening to the pediatrician. While waiting for a swab (which in any case is done closely and the result of which is uploaded to the health record the same day) the student stays home.
In case of positivity, the Health Protection Agency intervenes for the epidemiological investigation aimed at identifying the close contacts that are, in general, family members and classmates. The teacher is considered only if he does not take individual protection measures and distancing measures. At this point, if the index case (the student) is symptomatic, the contacts are quickly cleaned (within 24/48 hours) and meanwhile remain isolated; they will still have to end the 14-day quarantine even if the swab is negative.
THE WORLD’S SCHOOL NUMBERS
The teaching and non-teaching school staff is made up of 21,672 units; 11,823 (52% of potential) performed the serological test with the following results: 1,233 positive; 10,562 negatives; 28 doubts.
The school population in the province of Bergamo between the ages of 3 and 18 was approximately 180,000 in 2018 (excluding classmates, kindergartens and the Cfp).

People belonging to the school community will go at the indicated times, to the collection points closest to their school complex.
The report will be available from 11:00 pm in the personal ESF (Electronic Health Record) for adults and in the one indicated by parents for minors.
