At the end of the meeting, the same prefect of Naples – who placed the action to combat mafia infiltration at the top of his agenda also with respect to the rain of funds that arrive thanks to the Recovery Fund – said that “it is being done a great job in a delicate phase, in which we hope that in the coming months billions of euros will also reach this area to help the post-epidemic recovery phase of Covid. Campania has a deep-rooted presence of the Camorra, no we are far from calm and we are working on prevention with the police who are deploying sophisticated models to analyze the risk of criminal infiltration, both in contrast to the judicial police and the judiciary.

“We are also concerned – added Valentini – about the condition of the local authorities: in the metropolitan area sometimes there is not a good administration and there is a strong exposure to criminal infiltration, so we have a careful monitoring of this reality; in this we are concerned but also prepared ». The prefect also underlined “the social vulnerability and the world of work that in Naples was already a context tested by forms of insecurity and lack of work for some time. That is why we want to do everything possible in collaboration between institutions to help workers in difficulty, to support those who live in precariousness: because in this area it is an important job from a social point of view and respect for legality ”.
