GALLIPOLI – The desire to celebrate the new year will have passed in an instant, when he was informed of the consequences of this move to a nearby municipality to buy fireworks: a loose complaint and a fine of 533 euros.

A 22-year-old young man got into trouble, arrested yesterday afternoon by the administrative team of the Gallipoli police station. In the car, with him, however, there was also a colleague who escaped “alone” with the sanction, of the same amount, because both had moved from their hometown, without a valid reason.

It all started when the two children were arrested in a neighboring town of Gallipoli. One of the two was challenged for having bought nine pyrotechnic devices and two batteries belonging to the categories of explosive material not for free sale without having the requirements and the authorization title. Basically, the young man did not have a firearms license, commissioner clearance and firefighter license.

The explosive material, which was stuffed in the trunk of the young man’s car, was confiscated. And both the 22-year-old and his friend also received the administrative fine of 533 euros each, in accordance with the current Prime Minister’s Decree to combat the spread of Covid-19. At the moment, more research is also underway to find out who sold the fires.
