The data of Tuesday, December 29, 2020: while tomorrow the arrival of a new stock of vaccines is confirmed, Sars-CoV-2 continues to infect and claim victims in Trentino. I am 12 new deaths reported today by the bulletin of the provincial health services company, while the infections detected by molecular swab are 92. Along with these, 190 new cases of the rapid test also emerged, while the molecular checks confirmed 83 intercepted positivity in the last days of rapid tests.
In detail, of the new positive cases, 80 are asymptomatic, while 170 are asymptomatic. Children under the age of 2 are now infected with 2, while school-age children are 13. In addition, the percentage of people over seventy years of age who continue to be infected: today there are 51 more and the call from the health authorities to follow preventive measures (keep distance, wear masks, wash hands frequently and thoroughly) is renewed.
As is known, the most serious consequences of the infection coincide with advanced age, which is usually accompanied by various types of frailty. Of the 12 deaths today (5 women and 7 men), the majority affect people over 80 years of age (93 the oldest victim and 72 the youngest).
The situation of hospitals sees an increase in the number of discharges (yesterday they were 22) although it is still lower than that of new hospitalizations (yesterday 36).
There are 426 hospitalized patients (yesterday there were 419), of which 46 in resuscitation (1 more than yesterday).
Fortunately, there is also a sharp increase in the number of recovered, increasing by 234 new cases (the total since the start of the pandemic stands at 18,571).
The number of swabs is also repeated: yesterday the Microbiology Laboratory of the Hospital Santa Chiara de Trento analyzed 1,543, while in San Michele there were 323. The antigenic swabs notified to the health authority were instead 1,214.
