Another 753 infections (35 in nursing homes and 27 among health workers) and 33 deaths from Covid-19. These are the data for Friday, December 18, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. However, the number of swabs performed is not yet known: the Region explains the delay by attributing it to the transmission of data on new servers.
There are 59 people in intensive care, 601 inpatients in other departments. The current cases of contagion are 14,390, isolated people just over 13,000.
Due to the Covid in Trieste, face-to-face classes at the Morpurgo primary school have been suspended until December 23, the day on which the Christmas holidays will begin. Then face-to-face lessons will resume in January.
The health company’s decision came after the director, Marco Cucinotta, informed the Prevention Department of an abnormal growth of infections in the last two weeks. Asugi carried out 403 rapid tests between December 14 and today, finding the positivity of 39 students and 4 teachers. The school has a total of 21 classes with 439 students and 50 teachers. Classrooms and common areas have already been cleaned up, said the rector, clarifying that integrated digital teaching until the Christmas holidays was arranged, for most classes, as a precaution.
