But on the cover, and in the photos of the booklet, Annalisa is dressed: sweatshirt, shorts and combat boots. “It is a provocation that continues the process that I began with” Bye bye “: it is time to think less about pleasing others and to free ourselves from the brakes, here I deprive myself of those filters and those constructions that we all have to.

In the lyrics of this seventh album the house comes back everywhere, be it a one, three-bedroom apartment, a 70 square meter apartment, the place to dine with friends at Christmas … “That’s where we are.” Your ideal home has a characteristic as simple as it is intangible: “You must make me feel welcome.” She lives in Savona: «Even before entering I feel welcomed by the sound of the sea and the light. I also have a base in Milan and there I draw my roots that I find in the photos posted. And even being in the hotel I have to be surrounded by my santini: Polaroids of friends and cats, the watch as a gift from my father, the bracelet as a gift from my grandmother ».

The exit of the posesGetting rid of filters that aren’t just Instagram’s comes from a song like “Romantica” in which, thanks to J-Ax, Nali says that’s not really a trait of her character. Or even in “Principessa” where, together with Chadia Rodríguez, she tries to get out of the stereotypes of femininity. “We have to be sufficient as people, in our own way, to emancipate ourselves from other figures and legacies. The goal is to not have to specify “my way of being a woman”, but rather “my way of being” and that’s it ».

Annalisa’s voice, increasingly rich in nuances, takes a step from the new global pop where electronics wins. «I thought of the album as the cassettes of the past, side A and side B. In the first there are the most instinctive songs in which I recognize myself without thinking about it: it is the theme in the foreground. Those on the B side, on the other hand, speak of something more hidden that serves to give weight to the other side of the same coin. And there I also experimented with sounds. Continuing with the photographic comparison, it is the details, the background … ».

L’idea per «Tsunami», a single that comes after a couple of songs released in recent months, was stolen from the pages of Annalisa’s private diary and therefore belongs to that ideal first face. «I am not methodical, I write in notebooks, diaries, strips of paper, telephone notes … Those words were born one night when I needed to get things out of my head. My journal is more an outlet than a support to record my memories. For this text I started from a phrase by Cesare Pavese: “before we are foam we will be indomitable waves” ».

To represent the more experimental side «NUDA (to be born humans turned into animals)» with Achille Lauro: «Here comes my most crazy, playful and allusive side. Lauro has developed that side a lot and adds value to the piece. In the song I ask myself if filters and constructions are evolutions or involutions. And the question mark remains. Allusions and play: would you pose nude for Playboy? “On the record it would have been trivial, it would have made the whole project cheap. For an isolated project I do not set limits ».
