Almost 25 thousand new positive Italians were made public on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 28. Precisely 24,991 compared to Tuesday, + 4.4%; Tuesday +21,994) contracted the Sars-CoV-2 virus.
Of these, 37,905 died (+205, +%; Tuesday +221) and 275,404 were discharged (+3,416, + 1.3%; Tuesday +3,362).
Currently the positive topics of which there is certainty are 276,457 (+21,367, + 8.4%; Tuesday +18,406).
The count rises to 589,766 if there are also dead and cured in the calculation, that is, counting all the people who have tested positive for the virus since the start of the epidemic.
A new all-time record every day. For the first time, the number of current positives exceeds the number of total cures: it had never happened during the first wave (compared to far fewer tampons).
The epidemiological curve shows no signs of slowing down the rise: we are in “scenario 3” with regional Rt values between 1.25 and 1.5, rapidly worsening. The goal: to preserve the health system, as the premier said Giuseppe Conte. The risk is to saturate the hospitals in a few days: in Lombardy the alarm is already on and the ambulances are once again lined up in front of the health facilities.
