It begins with Professor Umberto Gentiloni Silveri, cousin of former Prime Minister Paolo, who in the midst of the Covid emergency has seen the renewal of his individual consulting position “for the president’s needs in terms of valuing the history and memory of the Territory and for the conception and promotion of projects and initiatives aimed at the transmission of historical knowledge”. A job for which the Lazio region, led by the leader of the Democrats, Nicola Zingaretti, pays 40 thousand euros a year.
But the list of consultants In the Pd quota “fished” by the governor to fill the most disparate roles is long and certainly does not end with the name of the academic related to the former prime minister. The weather makes an exhaustive list. The most emblematic case is that of Enrico Gasbarra: former deputy mayor, former president of the province and former deputy in the ranks of the Democratic Party. In 2019 he was appointed by Zingaretti for the presidency of Isma, an Ipab (public institute of assistance and charity) dedicated to minors and the elderly. The Minister of Economy Roberto Gualtieri, then, wanted him as an advisor, and not only. In May, the Mef proposed it for the Eur Spa summit.
But the race ended in a stalemate due to opposition from Campidoglio to the traction grid. Thanks to the confidence of the Democratic elite, he takes home a total of 176,000 gross euros a year, according to the Piazza Colonna newspaper. The Mef then addressed another loyalist (he also wrote the election program) from Zingaretti: Antonio Rosati, who since last July is CEO of the company that manages the assets of theEUR. Amedeo Piva, a former councilor and councilor for the Democratic Party, for his part, placed himself at the top of another IPAB that deals with the social inclusion of blind and partially sighted people. Like him is the former Deputy Mayor Dem de Guidonia, Paolo Bracchi, appointed extraordinary commissioner of the IPAB Beata Maria De Mattias de Orte, in the province of Viterbo.
Then there is the chapter parks: to direct the Bracciano-Martignano there is a son of art, Daniele Badaloni. His father, Piero, ruled the Lazio region in the 1990s, supported by the center-left. The president of the same body is another democrat: Vittorio Lorenzetti. The PD is also headed by the President and Director of Riviera di Ulisse, a body that manages three regional protected natural areas that are within the territories of the municipalities of Formia, Gaeta, Minturno and Sperlonga. They are Roberto Rotasso and Carmela Cassetta, also appointed by Governor Zingaretti. The former leader of the Frascati municipality’s Democratic group, Gianluigi Peduto, presides over the Castelli Romani park.
And then there are the Veltronians: Dario Esposito, who since 2017 directs the Nazzano-Tevere-Farfa Park Authority and Giuseppe Lobefaro, former president of the first municipality and provincial councilor of the Democratic Party, recently appointed extraordinary commissioner of the Ipab Strumbolo nursery school in Piedimonte San Germano.
