Federico, 18 killed in Ferrara during a police check
Fifteen years ago, Federico Aldrovandi, 18, was killed in Ferrara during a police check and became a symbol of his parents’ battle for justice. “On September 25 of each year, when dawn comes, what is repeated to me will always remain a nightmare, or worse, the horrible memory of the murder of a child by those who should have protected his life,” he writes today. The young man’s father, Lino, on Facebook, while his mother, Patrizia Moretti, on Twitter invites us to “not forget” and publishes a video-tribute to the west corner of Spal, Federico’s team.
Lino Aldrovandi recalls the story of his son: “Born in Ferrara on July 17, 1987, he forcibly ended his short life at 18, at 6.04 in the morning of an absurd September 25, 2005, on the cold gray asphalt of via Ippodromo, opposite the entrance to the racecourse, in Ferrara, in a place perhaps too quiet, murdered for no reason at dawn on a Sunday by 4 uniformed people. Their names: Monica Segatto, Paolo Forlani, Luca Pollastri and Enzo Pontani “, the policemen who were sentenced for culpable excess of homicide, to three years and six months.
In the afternoon, a public garden bears the name of Federico at Ospital Monacale, Municipality of Argenta (Ferrara).
