ANCONA – Hospital admissions of patients suffering from Coronavirus and the numbers give an exact idea of how the contagion progresses at a frantic rate. Yesterday there were 29 hospitalizations and an increase in patients in intensive care (from 22 to 23), in semi-intensive care (from 9 to 13) and also in non-intensive wards (from 143 to 167). Numbers that drove the governor Acquaroli urgently convene all the leaders of the Asur and the hospitals of the Marche region, to face the situation and understand how long it will be possible to withstand a similar multiplication of infected. An extraordinary council convened after the Corriere Adriatico’s call to further toughen measures to stop the race of the virus in the Marches.

The most serious patients are admitted to the intensive care units of the Ospedali Riuniti de Ancona (from 10 to 12), the Materno Infantile Salesi de Ancona (1), San Benedetto del Tronto (5) and Marche Nord (from 6 to 5). In subintensive, more patients in Marche Nord (from 9 to 11) and two new ones in Macerata. Hospitalizations and infections are on the rise. In the last three days, 1,048 new cases have been reported, 413 in the previous three days. Yesterday, Covid positives were positive for coronavirus in the Marche region: there were 274 out of 1,621 new diagnoses (nearly 17%) compared to 453 out of 2,224 the day before (over 20%) and two days ago, 321 out of 1,707 (18.8%). In the dramatic count, the Marches health service reported the deaths of two old men from Ascolano: an 81-year-old from Monteprandone and an 85-year-old from Venarotta. But to understand how the epidemic is accelerating compared to previous weeks, it is enough to compare the infections and the period in which they were reported: it took 3 months and three weeks – from April 23 to August 12 – to go from 6,000 to 7,000 positives in the Marks. Then six weeks to reach 8,000,000, two weeks to reach 9,000, seven days to exceed 10,000. And now 1,048 new positive cases in three days.
Meanwhile in Arcevia, in the refugee center, the outbreak is widening: there are now 22 Covid-positive immigrants, while in Macerata the nightmare of the coronavirus returns in the RSA. A few hours after the squeeze decided by Governor Acquaroli, the result of the swabs confirmed the positivity of 39 guests of the Villa Cozza structure, which is also awaiting the result of another 19 tests carried out after the infection of an operator. Following the data reported by the health service, in the Marches yesterday the highest number of infections, at the provincial level, was Ancona (123), followed by Macerata (57), Fermo (37), Pesaro Urbino (32) and Ascoli Piceno (24); one case comes from outside the region. Among the positives there are also 41 symptomatic subjects, others refer to contacts at home (74), close contacts of positive cases (64), registered in the work environment (8), contacts in the living / entertainment environment (15) , in the caring environment (3), in school / training environments (10) and in health screening (4). For 55 cases, epidemiological investigations in progress.
With the increase in the transmissibility index, which in the Marche region from 1.13 to 1.47 in a week, the Region has decided to accelerate the pace by opening the Covid hospital in Civitanova today. Operationally, the structure will start operating from tomorrow and will be used primarily to lighten the load of Covid patients at the Macerata hospital and at the Jesi hospital. The Saltamartini regional health counselor closely follows the evolution of the epidemic and in the meantime has decided to open two modules: one for intensive care and the other for semi-intensive care.
