Accidents on A4, the section between San Giorgio di Nogaro and Latisana closed

The A4 motorway remains closed on the section between San Giorgio di Nogaro and Latisana towards Venice and the San Giorgio di Nogaro junction is also closed due to two serious accidents. The first, which occurred around three in the morning (Monday, September 7) was caused by a car that, having arrived near the Latisana toll, made a U-turn taking the exit ramp in the opposite direction (the one that passes through those arriving from Trieste). The impact with a heavy vehicle coming from the right direction was inevitable. The vehicle, in an attempt to avoid it, rolled over and also involved another vehicle. Despite the drama of the accident, there are no deaths.

The second accident happened around 8:30 am, always in the direction of Venice, practically on the same stretch where traffic slowed down much after the first accident. The road had not been closed and therefore the flow of vehicles was the typical stop and go. Just during the stopping phase, a heavy vehicle collided with the one in front which, fortunately, had stopped about twenty meters behind the last stopped vehicle. The impact threw him about thirty feet forward. The driver of the vehicle that collided with the rear part died, while the safety distance avoided serious consequences for the driver of the hit. At 9.30 am, the traffic blocked in the section affected by the accident slowly emptied. The recall of the vehicles is still ongoing.
