Abruzzo closed again for Covid. The anticipated decision last night by the vice president of the Region Emanuele Reckless on the need to move to the red zone within two days has generated apprehension, in particular due to the closure of schools and public establishments considered ‘not essential’.
The decision was made at the end of the meeting with the regional technical-scientific committee, which was initially thought to be convened only to decide on the important restrictions in the most affected provinces, namely L’Aquila and Teramo.
The ordinance signed by Governor Marco Marsilio with the new restrictions must arrive today and take effect as of tomorrow, no later than the day after tomorrow, until December 3.
“We are discussing and evaluating the proposal to include Abruzzo among the Italian regions in the red zone, today we will consult with the local authorities, with all the other components of Abruzzo and we will make our evaluations. We will complete the steps with the regional council and decide, ”Marco Marsilio told Adnkronos.
It is not excluded, in fact, that the Region decides to operate a nearby firm to contain the coronavirus infection, integrating the provisions already provided for by national regulations, with the closure of schools at all levels.
In this sense, however, last night the president of the Abruzzo Regional Council, Lorenzo Sospiri, recalling that the Dpcm Government foresees in the red zone that nursery schools up to sixth grade must remain open, specified that where there are zones Abruzzo with situations so urgent that they cannot even allow this, to contemplate the possibility of closing schools only there.
“I hope that the news of an imminent closure of schools in Abruzzo is unfounded. President Marsilio complies with national regulations even in the case of a crossing in the red zone. The example of Campania is illuminating: the closure of schools does not stop the infection Marsilio does not compromise the future of our children and young people! “is the appeal of the group leader of the Commission for Culture and Education of the Chamber of Deputies, Gianluca Vacca.
In any case, Health Minister Speranza, according to Governor Marsilio, agrees with the inclusion of Abruzzo in the red zone.
