Reconstruction
The first to arrive at the scene were the police who tried to enter the apartment of the 37-year-old girl invaded by flames to try to free her. It appears that the victim tried to protect himself from the stake by locking himself in the bathroom, without windows or balconies, where he was found dead. A man who took refuge on the balcony of his house on the floor above the one affected by the flames, now completely engulfed in smoke, was saved by a ladder that managed to reach the balcony and bring the person to the ground for proper treatment.
The fire department, which arrived at Via Nicolini with three vehicles, including a ladder truck and 17 men, took the necessary measures to put out the flames, while health workers took two men who were poisoned to the emergency room by the smoke and hospitalized with maximum severity code.
The owner of the accommodation also came to the place and used the fire extinguishers supplied with the residence, but, despite all his efforts, he had to give up.
